Monks Take Up the Battle Update 1

The protest marches continue daily. Supporters have joined the monks and some are seen here joining hands to protect the marchers. An international aid agency estimated the group had grown to between 50 and 100,000. They are now marching in other towns as well.

This could be the pressure needed to free Aung San Suu Kyi.

    Let’s hope that’s what happens and not some massive and bloody crackdown. These are some brave people out in the streets.

    Yes they are. Monks are so highly respected in Asia, even Burma, that to crack down on this in a violent fashion could only bring condemnation and heartache to the junta. I foresee they will try to wait it out and hope it dies off. However, the monks have said they will march until the junta is dead and I don’t see them backing down from that.
