Mike Huckabee, another one of the Republican candidates who doesn’t have a cold chance in hell, is one of the three morons who, in a previous debate, admitted that he did not believe in evolution.

At the time, I gave him and the others the benefit of the doubt, assuming they were only making that startling admission in order to maintain the support of the ultra Christian right. That would just make them all corrupt hypocrites who will be anything for anybody as long as the donations keep coming – in other words politicians – but not necessarily morons.

Now this same guy, in response to Michael Moore’s extremely important documentary Sicko, gave this critique:

Frankly, Michael Moore is an example of why the health care system costs so much in this country.”

He is of course referring to Moore’s weight. He does not refer to the absurd premiums doctors have to pay for malpractice insurance. He does not refer to the obscene profits being raked in by the health insurance providers and the pharma companies. He does not refer to the dependence that corrupt politicians have on the contributions they receive from those industries as long as they don’t rock the boat. And he certainly doesn’t refer to the criminal prices being charged for the drugs so many people need to just stay alive. No, the true problem is Michael Moore’s waistline.

The fact is, it is Mike Huckabee that is the problem. He represents everything bad about our elected officials and our system. He cares nothing about the American people, nothing about the sick and dying. He cares about getting re-elected and he cares about money, wherever it comes from.

He, and the others are just poliwhores, prostituting their votes and on their knees to the lobbyists. They have neither character or integrity, guts nor balls. They are both politicians and morons…and much worse.

I heard Schmuckabee say that and was going to write about it, but you’ve said it all.

I think the idea that Americans get sick because they deserve it is an insult to all the kids with cancer, the people who are hurt in accidents, the people who are getting old – in other words, all of us. It’s nobody’s fault if they get appendicitis and can’t afford $40,000 to have it removed. Sickness happens, accidents happen, but this bastard wants to blame not only the victim, but the guy who would like to end the system of every man for himself and rich guys first.

    F*** Huckabee.

Great job of telling it like it is. Let me just add this, Huckabee has to resort to this behavior because he knows the health care crisis is indefensible.
