Only the US can have allies?

I really must be missing something here.

Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, an independent who strongly supports the war in Iraq, said today that unless Iran stops training Iraqis to carry out anti-coalition attacks, the United States should launch cross-border attacks into Iran.

First of all, I don’t put much stock in anything the turncoat cheating loser Lie-berman has to say. But beyond that, what right do we have to attack another country that is supporting one side, either side, in the Iraqi civil war?

Bushco uses the words insurgents and terrorists as if the fighters in Iraq are trucked in by the thousands from outside the country. That’s a lie. Fact is, these are Iraqi citizens. We invaded their country! Some Iraqis didn’t like that. Of course they are fighting us! We would do the same thing!

What is the historical precedent? During the Vietnam civil war we backed the south (who eventually lost). China and Russia both supplied the north with arms, munitions, expertise and training. American soldiers were killed with Russian and Chinese weapons. Did that mean that we attacked China or Russia? Of course not.

Iran and Iraq are not kissing cousins. They have had their own wars. But allies don’t have to be allies for life. We were Bin Laden’s ally and Saddam’s ally at times. It’s a matter of The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That’s the way it is.

Bush is going to use the same technique to manipulate you that he has used so successfully with Iraq. He is going to frighten you. Scare you into believing that only he can save you from the murderous, nuclear enabled Iranians. Don’t trust him! We must not, we cannot allow this lying, criminal administration to lead us into yet another conflict in the middle east.
