Steve Martin Receives Well-Deserved Honor

steve-martin.jpgSteve Martin was honored at the annual Kennedy Center gala last night along with such greats as Diana Ross and Brian Wilson. It’s about time. Martin’s zany antics, slapstick style and perfect timing have made him one of the all time greats. There’s lots of good videos of his performances on Youtube. Here’s a little taste from SNL.

    Never did like his “wild and crazy guys” routines. That said, there is no doubt in my under-powered mind that Martin is a comedic genius. As stupid as it was, I always got a kick out of him “tricking” himself into thinking his shoes were untied.

    I thought Brian Wilson died a few years ago. Obviously, I was wrong!

    I’ve always liked Martin too. His style reminds me of Jerry Lewis when he did all those movies with Bob Hope.
